สวัสดีคะ!!
First week of SFM 2010!
Its finally here!
We're all so excited around here with the beginning of the SFM 2010!
We have 6 students, 3 Thai and 3 American. 3 boys 3 girls. 2 staff (me, Rachel from USA and Sameh from Egypt). Our 3 Thai people are from different parts of Thailand as well. We have Tahn from Chiang Mai, Zhang -Chinese-Thai from Chiang Rai, and Somwang from Isaan region (Khon Kean currently). Our Americans are Michael from California, Brian from Colorado (most recently) and Megan from Michigan. Most of us are YWAMers. Staff from different places.
This is the first year we are translating the school into Thai. Its presenting its challenges and is a lot of hard work, but WOW its so exciting! I love seeing papers lying around the office that are in Thai writing. We've been praying for Thais to come for so long and now that they're here its so exciting. :-D
This week we're learning from Calvin about Cross Cultural Communication and research. We're learning about world view and how different cultures see things. We're translating Calvin's keynote presentation into Thai every day. Today (Thursday) is Calvin's birthday! And we're gonna party down. Hawaii style! (Because Calvin is from Hawaii!) Happy Birthday Calvin!!
Keep checking back for updates and photos--they'll be coming soon!
