The School of Cartooning and Animation for Missions is a six-month, second-level YWAM school, devoted to training students in using cartoons, comic books, anime, and animated media to communicate the Gospel in culturally relevant ways. In many cultures, people prefer to receive information through pictures. Cartoons and animation can be powerful tools, especially in Asia where people line up to buy comic books. Cartoons have a special way of opening doors that would otherwise be closed.

Field Assignment
The lecture phase for the course will be three months, followed by a four-week field assignment where the students will research an unreached people group in their environment, and develop evangelistic cartoon and animation materials for that people group.
Back in Chiang Mai, we will have two more months of post-production to complete the materials and explore methods of publication and distribution.

Prerequisite
All students must have successfully completed a YWAM Discipleship Training School [DTS]. Learn more about the DTS or check out YWAM Chiang Mai’s DTS opportunities.
