SFM 2011 Week One: Cross Cultural Communication and Research

After orientations and introductions over the weekend, we went ahead full-speed with Calvin C. – International Director of Create Intl. – teaching us on Cross-Cultural Communications and Research. His teaching was rich with examples and personal experience that helped us grapple with the ideas of God’s heart for all Peoples, Culture and Worldview. We pondered how to discover cultures and successfully adjust in a cross-cultural environment. Some highlight topics included: culture stress vs. culture shock, the parts and characteristics of worldview, what is culture learning, research methods and contextualisation.
